This series shows how one’s sexual upbringing and archetypal fantasy scenes act as a scrim over one’s lives and relationships. “Living in Stereo,” a group of four images, superimposes a couple over degraded stills from Phoebe Cates’ nude scene in the film Fast Times at Ridgemont High; a couple mimetically reenacts the scene and fuses with mediated images of an earlier generation’s common sexual fantasy. In “Telling Him What Happened,” a woman reads a man an important passage from a book, while his mind is elsewhere.
