When I Paint My Masterpiece (middle)

Image 2 of 10

This series compares how active routines on one’s “to do” list pull us in opposite directions, just as different goals tug at a couple in a relationship. Two people are doing battle with different weaponry; the one in the matador’s costume slays the fencer. A woman spoon-feeds her husband his meal in a crib, simultaneously serving his needs and infantilizing him, while implicating the viewer. A writer works on his masterpiece as his pregnant spouse is trapped in a cage in snow. A man and a woman live in poverty in a decrepit abandoned swimming pool – but is she pulling him out, or is he dragging her in?
